Ever had a muffin that looked delicious but ended up being dry and bland? We have. Some places offer "pretty" muffins that look to be delicious but aren't. That's just NOT Kick Butt!!! Muffins should taste awesome don't you think? We thought so too. So, we went on a year and half long journey to find the perfect muffin recipe. Yes, we even trekked up the highest mountain to find them. We succeeded because what we found was that when we bake them ourselves they don't always look the same...sometimes they look ugly. And, it was the ugly ones that tasted the best. The epitome of “don’t judge a book by it’s cover.” At Kick Butt Coffee & Live Music Cocktail Bar we now bake a variety of Muffins fresh constantly...all the time.

You can even order a custom "Ugly Muffin Tray" with 6 (six) fresh, hot out-of-the-oven muffins at any time. (takes 30 minutes). So in conclusion...our muffins are "Ugly" but we think they are the best tasting muffins in Texas...REALLY!!! Hey, don't take our word for it. We'll say anything to get you to give them a shot. HEB Central Market Fresh Toasted Bagels
(with Cream Cheese or Butter)

Plain, 8-Grain, Poppyseed, Cinnamon Raisin Swirl, Jalapeno and Everything Bagel

The bagels are where many coffee shops fall short. Places where bagels are not like bagels at all...more like dinner rolls, soft yeasty things, with no pull or crust. They squish and stay squished, like the soft dinner roll you had at your last thanksgiving dinner.

When you bite into a bagel, you are expecting Chuck Norris, a crust that is tough but yielding, a tough veneer holding a firm interior that is ready to support the soft feminine touch of philly cream cheese or softened butter. A bakery product that might bend at the bite but never ever cave in.

The "dinner roll" bagel is more like the guy who sleeps on your couch and won't leave. It has no crust, a flabby body, and little to no chew, It sticks to the roof of your mouth and has airholes in it like wonderbread...oy vey!

Our Bagels are prepared the old-world way, boiled and then baked from HEB Central Market. Get it toasted and you'll taste something near perfection: a bagel that is crunchy, not too dense or sweet, and just chewy enough. They are great with cream cheese as breakfast or as an afternoon snack.
